How We Research and Check This Site
Every rate, deadline, phone number and procedure on this site comes from an official document we link to, and each page shows the date we last checked it. If we cannot confirm something from an official source, we leave it out.
Where our information comes from
- NEPRA — tariff notifications (SROs), determinations, adjustment decisions and the Consumer Service Manual.
- MEPCO — its website, FAQs, forms and notices.
- PITC — the official bill and complaint systems used by MEPCO.
- Ministry of Energy (Power Division) and other government notifications.
- News reports — to date an announcement or report a NEPRA decision; we link to the official document instead whenever we can find it.
We do not use other bill-checking websites, social media posts or forums as sources.
When sources disagree
- We prefer NEPRA over MEPCO pages, and a dated document over an undated one.
- We say on the page that the sources differ.
- When the difference affects money or deadlines, we tell you to confirm with your MEPCO customer service centre.
How often we re-check
| What | When |
|---|---|
| Monthly adjustments and the adjustments log | Every month, after NEPRA’s decision |
| Tariff, calculator and rate tables | Every month, and when a new SRO is notified |
| Phone numbers, portals and procedures | Every three months |
| Every other page | At least every six months |
The “Last verified” date on a page changes only when we have actually checked it against its sources.
What we write ourselves
Explanations, worked examples and checklists are ours, and worked examples say which rates and date they use. We do not publish invented case studies, quotes or reviews.
Independence and corrections
This website is not affiliated with MEPCO, PITC, NEPRA or any government body. If you spot a mistake, email mepcobillschecker@gmail.com with the page address and what is wrong, or use our contact page. Material corrections will be listed here.
