MEPCO Complaints and Helpline

For a power fault, call 118. For anything else — a billing problem, a meter fault, a request — register it on PITC’s online complaint system or send an SMS to 8118, and keep the ticket number. If MEPCO does not resolve it, you can escalate to PITC’s quality team and then to NEPRA.

Never pay an individual. PITC’s complaint website warns consumers never to send money for bills, meters, repairs, fines, bill adjustments or new connections through Easypaisa, JazzCash or bank transfer to anyone’s personal account. Report such calls or messages to 118.

Registering a complaint online

The CCMS register page finds your connection by reference number (14 digits), mobile number (12 digits) or CNIC, then asks you to:

  1. Confirm your account and mobile number.
  2. Give the nearest place — a landmark helps line staff.
  3. Choose the category — Line complaint, Non-line complaint or Leads / requests / others — and the complaint type.
  4. Describe the problem: dates, readings and what you have already tried.
  5. Answer the simple maths check and submit. Note the ticket number.

The form is in English and Urdu. PITC recommends written complaints because the details are more accurate, and you can include relevant documents.

Tracking a complaint

On the CCMS website, use Track by Reference (your 14-digit reference number) or Track by Ticket (the number you got when registering).

Before you complain about a bill

  • The bill, or its reference number, and the month in question.
  • A dated photo of your meter showing today’s reading.
  • Bank or app receipts for any payment the bill does not show.

For specific problems see why a MEPCO bill may be too high and MEPCO meter problems.

Escalating to NEPRA

NEPRA’s online complaint system says to complain to your SDO or XEN first. Its complaint rules (2015) cover issues within one year; older matters go to NEPRA’s Director General, Consumer Affairs. The form asks for your CNIC, reference number, a description, supporting documents (PDF or JPG, up to 2.5 MB) and confirmation that no other complaint or court case is pending on the matter.

Other MEPCO numbers

MEPCO’s FAQ lists 061-9220313, 061-9220317 and 061-9220314 for when complaint lines are busy, and its customer care page lists rcc@mepco.com.pk. We do not list district or officer mobile numbers because we could not verify them from official pages.
